Drivers :
No driver is required to be installed. The Party Mix is a USB Class compliant device and your Operating system will automatically install the necessary drivers once the unit is connected to your computer via a USB port.
For
Windows, an
optional ASIO driver can be installed from

Download and install VirtualDJ from https://www.virtualdj.com/download/index.html (in case you have not done already)
Once VirtualDJ is launched, a Connect window will appear to enter your virtualdj.com account credentials.
A Pro Infinity, a Plus Controller or a Pro Subscription License is required to fully use the Numark Party Mix MKII. Without any of the above Licenses, the controller will operate for 10 minutes each time you restart VirtualDJ.

A detection window will appear when the unit is first connected with VirtualDJ, verifying proper connection.
Click on the "Party Mix MKII" if your speakers are connected to the Main Output at the left side of the Party Mix MKII.
You can still make changes in the Audio setup from VirtualDJ Settings->AUDIO tab.
Press OK.
The unit is now
ready to operate.
PADS
The 4 numbered Pads of the Numark Party Mix MKII offer different functionality, depending on the selected Mode. Use the PAD MODE button to cycle through the 4 available modes (Hotcues, Loops, Sampler and Effects).
HOTCUES
The unit will initialize with the
Hotcues mode selected. To select the Hotcues mode - if another is selected - use the PAD MODE button until the first top Led (HOT CUE) is lit.
The
PML Cues Pads page will be then selected and displayed in the default skins of VirtualDJ
PML CUES Page - VirtualDJ default Skin In this mode the 4 numbered Pads
assign a Hotcue (1-4) or trigger the Hotcue (if assigned). To
delete an assigned Hotcue, hold down the PAD MODE button and then press the Pad of which the Hotcue you wish to delete.
LOOPS
Use the PAD MODE button until the second from top Led (LOOP) is lit to set the Pads to
Loop mode. The
PML Loop page will be then selected and displayed in the default skins of VirtualDJ
PML Loop Page - VirtualDJ default Skin In this mode, the 4 numbered Pads
trigger an auto-Loop of a different size in beats, depending on the selected
Loop Bank.
3 different Banks are available (Small, Normal and Large) offering loop sizes
from 1/8 to 64 beats. Use the top arrow buttons on the Skin (1st Parameter) to select the next/previous Loop bank.
Additionally a
Loop Roll can be applied using the Pads on the Party Mix MKII.
Hold down the PAD MODE button and then press a Pad to temporary (while pressed) apply a Loop Roll of a different size in beats, depending on the selected
Roll Bank2 different Banks are available offering loop roll sizes
from 1/8 to 8 beats. Use the bottom arrow buttons (2nd Parameter) on the Skin to select the next/previous Loop Roll bank.
SAMPLER
Use the PAD MODE button until the 3rd Led (SAMPLER) is lit to set the Pads to
Sampler mode. The
PML Sampler page will be then selected and displayed in the default skins of VirtualDJ
PML Sampler Page - VirtualDJ default Skin In this mode, the 4 numbered Pads will
trigger a Sample (1-4) from the selected Sampler Bank of VirtualDJ.
If the selected Bank has less than 5 samples, both sides of the Party Mix MKII will trigger the same Samples. If the selected Bank has more than 4 Samples, the left side of the Party Mix MKII will trigger samples 1 to 4 and the right side will trigger samples 5 to 8. Samples further to slot 8 can be triggered from the Sampler view of Sideview, either by selecting a different Sampler Layout view or the List view.
If the selected Sampler Trigger mode is set to Unmute or Stutter and you need to stop the playing Sample, hold down the PAD MODE button and then press the Pad to stop its assigned Sample.

EFFECTS
Use the PAD MODE button until the bottom Led (EFFECT) is lit to set the Pads to
Effects mode. The
PML FX page will be then selected and displayed in the default skins of VirtualDJ
PML FX Page - VirtualDJ default Skin In this mode the 4 numbered Pads trigger an Effect as following:
- PAD 1 : Trigger the Beat Grid Effect. Use the arrow buttons on the skin to select a different Beat Grid pattern
- PAD 2 : Trigger the Flanger Effect.
- PAD 3 : Trigger the Phaser Effect.
- PAD 4 : Enable/Disable the selected Mix Effect. When enabled, moving the Crossfader from one side to the other, an Effect will be applied to both decks as the crossfader is moved, providing a unique mixing.
4 additional Effects can be applied using the Party Mix MKII. Hold down the PAD MODE button and then press one of the 4 Pads.
All 8 Effects provided in this mode have pre-defined Parameters. If you wish to choose different Effects and/or different Parameters, you will need to edit the PML FX page from the Pads Editor. See https://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/virtualdj/editors/padseditor.html
NotesLIGHT SHOW
The three LED light arrays sync to your mix, flashing from the back of the Party Mix MKII, illuminating your performance. They add a cool dimension to your performance, moving to the beat, setting the perfect party mood.
Use the small
button at the right panel of the unit to
cycle through the
5 hard-coded Light modes.
Light Modes
- OFF : Leds are always Off
- VDJ PRG : Leds illuminate depending on the selected VirtualDJ Program mode.
- AUTO-BEAT : Leds illuminate in a random order based on the tempo of the Master Deck received from VirtualDJ
- AUTO : Leds illuminate in a random order based on a pre-defined tempo
- ON : Leds are always On.
To check which of the available Light modes is selected, you can select the PML Lights Page in the Pads section of VirtualDJ GUI.
Note that the Pads on the GUI will not change the Lights mode on the PartyMix MKII, but will follow the selection you make from the device.
VirtualDJ Program modes
VirtualDJ has pre-defined 3 different Programs for the Party Mix Leds and those are available when the
VDJ PRG (2) mode is selected. The Programs 1 to 3 can be selected from the PML Lights Pads page using the arrow buttons (1st Parameter)
- Program 1 : Red-Blue-Green Leds turn on/off in a sequential order based on the Beat Grid pattern of the Master Deck (the deck that is currently playing out in Master Output)
- Program 2 : Red-Blue-Green Leds flash in a sequential order based on the Beat Grid pattern of the Master Deck (the deck that is currently playing out in Master Output)
- Program 3 : All 3 Red-Blue-Green Leds illuminate at the same time and their intensity is based on the amount of the Master Output Level (the louder the volume is, the brighter the Leds will illuminate)
ADVANCED SETUP
MIDI MAPPING
The unit should be visible in the CONTROLLERS tab of Config and the “
factory default” available/selected from the Mappings drop-down list. The factory default Mapping offers the functions described in this Manual, however those can be adjusted to your needs via VDJ Script actions.

Default Audio setup
The unit has a
pre-defined Audio setup and a
special button in the AUDIO tab of Config to provide that.
If the pre-defined audio setup is selected, speakers and Headphones need to be connected to the left -side panel.
Alternative Audio setup
No Speakers available to connect.In case no speakers are available to connect to the Party Mix MKII and wish to listen through the built-in speakers of your computer, you will need to manually apply the following audio configuration.
Select the
built-in sound card of your computer for the
Master (on Chans 1,2) and the
Party Mix MKII sound card for the
Headphones (at Chans
3,4)
Click to
APPLYNote : The Headphones channel in this case will be still routed to the front socket of the Party Mix MKII for you to connect your Headphones for pre-listening
