Which trial version did you try (the version is written on the splash screen)? The Multi-Instance Skin is not compatible with VirtualDJ 2.xx.

[ENG] for a better customable skin and for multi-instance-use, I think is necessary a browser that allow the Drag&Drop between the instances : will be possible with a new version? o a supplementary program like vdjBrowser.exe ???
I searched a program for a mp3-catalogue with "seach option" like vdj , but I can't find anything...

ok, but the win-explore use too much screen and in search is not so comfortable, and than go from the search mode to the tree mode is more uncomfortable.
I try many time to find the way to write a php or an asp code but I'm not able to obtain a result like file-object but only "link".

Yeah I think a new Multi-Instance skin is a cool idea, it would be cool if there was a way to just design it as 1 skin with 4 players and have it automatically realise it needs to run 2 VDJ...2 searches is a bit of a waste of space.
The VDJBrowser idea is a coll aproach, as long as it has SAYT (Search As You Type)...I think the browser needs a few improvements as it stands...like auto Asterisking (*) in searches...a cool one would be able to search Dancin' and Dancing at the same time automatically and Mr Bright Side and Mr. Bright Side
As sometimes your desired results don't show up depending on the naming.

open vdj, set everything: audio, plug-ings, samples, fxs and skin.
shut-up vdj and go to regedit and save like vdj1.reg on desktop the folder
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\virtualdj....
then re-open vdj and set everythings about his 2nd instance, shut-up vdj and save all keys in a file like vdj2.reg.
now when you want start the 1 configuration run vdj1.reg then virtualdj.exe, the same for the 2nd configuration
but we want a power-full and easy-full vdjbrowser ;P byez

I think I have just worked out a clever way to do this project that could lead to some very interesting results for a lot of users.
This would have to be suggested as a new feature to make it work.
What if...VDJ had sticky windows, that way you could easily align different instances of VDJ to part of you screen - for ease of use.
They would also have to be stretchable (dynamically)
I've never actually designed a working skin but what about making a 2 or 3 part skin.
A Skin that is purely the players and then a skin that was just a browser, playlist thingy
I've used these values for simple adding Screen Res 1200 x 900
Player part 500 x 900 browser 200 x 900 or whatever.
Only one huge prob I see and this comes down to how VDJ actually works...FX and samples are all handled through the browser area so if you only had one browser how could you adjust the properties of all decks??
Do you think VDJ after 2.07 when they go for the next big release let's say 3.0 or even 4.0 would consider major app restructure. Something like VDJ - Pro Studio?

I don't work like dj but in my last parties I understood that with alcool and havy volume everythings have to be simply, elementary and intuitive start from cds, cdjs, mixers, ecc...

Ok a new update for vdj v3.0 is coming soon
It will use the power of new skin engine for multi-instance but no more functions in more for the moment.
