is it so, that a jpeg-skin will run smoother because of the litle sice of it?
and another one.
how can i make a clipmask totaly black in a jpeg-skin? when i save it, the collors change a bit. so the clipmask won't work.

I don't think a jpeg skin will make VDJ work smoother. The program still have to use the image as a bitmap internal.

Because of the way jpegs work, it's not all a solid color (which can be very annoying.) You will either have to use an advanced editor that can select a group of colors rather than just one, or fill in the color manually.

Another idea is to convert the jpeg to a low color depth bitmap (16 or 32 colors probably) and that should solidify it enough that you can work with it easily. Only problem with this is you're inevitably going to lose some of the quality.
