Topic: Midi and line in issues
Ok I am trying to add a line in to one of my systems and I think I don't have the code right for it and here's what I have going on so far. This will be coming from a virtual cable and will have various things on it such as discord or other audio assignments or some automated player software. I can assign the cable fine and that part is working correctly if I go to the 2 player skin, buttons show up all is well every thing works on player one just fine.

I am running the current version of pro with the jog-grid 4 player skin normally. When I tried adding it to any of the players 1-4 the skin evidently does not have the button for it anyplace and that's fine as I would rather not tie up a player with this.

What I would like to do is add it as player 5, and I don't need to see it on a meter or a player visibly and i have extra sliders on my controller to control it.

Try as i might I don't think i have the code and verb-age correct for the assignment, as I say everything works how I want it to on the 2 player skin. I wouldn't think you would actually have to have a visible player to make this work and there will never be any need for pfl or any effects on this--just a straight line in assigned to my controller would be perfect sent on down to the regular mix.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance

script deck 5 linein

Thanks Locodog. I had gotten that far before so i added "level" after that without the quotes and assigned my midi slider but it only makes sound while I am sliding the slider up and down and that also throws a "Line in" assignment into my sidelist as if it was a file.

This is the point Ive been stopped at. Once i add the line in assignment then how do i add the midi slider for the level? This would be 0_slider4 by the way

as it looks on my screen deck 5 linein level and level is green. I tried reversing level and line in and got nothing, trie using on and a few other things and getting nowhere so far lol

deck 5 linein on creates the line in [creates the deck if it doesn't exist] so use once a session.
deck 5 linein [no state parameter] will toggle linein on/off, that's why you only get sound when touching your incorrectly mapped slider.

deck 5 level will control the level of the deck, [if it exists]

So I added a button, works perfect now. That's what I was missing. A huge thanks. You saved the day as usual ;)
