Hi there fellas,
I just ordered a Dynamic Mic Shure Beta 58A and now I wonder if I need a preamp or anything fancy for my Pioneer DDJ RR. I wouldn't ask if I already found a solution online but apparently I'm either too stupid or it's too simple or noone give a f...
Anyways, I have a gig on friday and wanted to try some vocals with it. Is there anything (besides cables I already have) I should know or need for the microphone to work? I keep hearing about preamps and audio interfaces. Is that in this case really neccessairy or does the DDJ RR already have that built in?
Also would you recommend an external device for reverb or similar effects?
I appreciate any help and advice :)
Cheers,

Should just be plug and play.

You'll be set with just an XLR to 1/4" cable for the mic. The VDJ manual for the unit has some great info on audio routing options (https://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/hardware/pioneer/ddjrr/inputs.html). With the PCMIX switch on, you can route the mic into vdj and to a deck to add effects there, and the utilities accessible via the pads have some helpful settings (MIC LEVEL HIGH and MIC PEAK LIMIT)
