It would be nice to be able to resize the wave form to take up less space or have a few options for large, Med, small and xsmall

This is VDJ - of course it can be done, and indeed has been done on a selection of skins.

It's a lot of work for very little benefit, reducing the wave size to as it was with v7 skin results in 1 more browser line, and to do that means a lot of skin work.
to remove the waves entirely is not that bad, I've got that option in an up to date pro skin
