Hi,

the wire connecting the dj console to laptop got tugged and it damaged the usb socket in the dj console, unfortunately trying to replace this socket has proven challenging as it seems near impossible for someone without a good knowledge of repairs to take this console apart!

The question is if it is possible to power the console through an alternative source, using one of the various outputs or inputs, and also ideally still sync it up with virtual dj? I will be taking the console to a repair shop but I'm dreading the ridiculous service fees, so an alternative short term solution till after christmas would be ideal, I couldn't find any other threads similar to this so apologies if this has been answered, and also if it is a dumb question!

Given that the USB port provides both power and communication between the computer and the controller, if it is broken, I don't see how you could keep using your controller...

I would try contacting Hercules directly and explain the situation. They might be able to provide you with a replacement board from a damaged or broken unit.
