So i bought novations launchpad pro. Im using the latest version of VDJ in a windows OS. In the settings, under the controllers tab my PC detects three devices of launchpads: (though its only the one)
Launchpad Pro (custom mapping)
MIDIIN2 (Launchpad Pro) (custom mapping)
MIDIIN3 (Launchpad Pro (custom mapping)
None of them have a default mapping. The only one of the three that will even register a button being pressed is "MIDIIN2 (Launchpad Pro) (custom mapping). All I'd like to do at the moment is program the launchpad is to play_stop samplers, such as the 'hihat 1' or 'kick'. I try the simple code
sampler_play_stop 'hihat 1' under the custom mapping of the MIDIIN2 (Launchpad Pro). But nothing works. Could yall share some knowledge to help me learn how to program this thing.

Launchpad Pro is not natively supported. http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VirtualDJ8%20Controllers.html , so there will not be any "default" mapping available
You will either have to use that as "Simple Midi" , with no Leds, or create a definition file http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Controller%20Developers.html

Alright, I've found old mapper and definition files or other launchpads; but would you know where i could find a mapper and definition file for the Launchpad Pro?

APC MINI is what I use and works perfectly! I researched what would work before I bought. This little thing works amazing
