are you wanting to make it yourself or see one in action?
I use sliding "knobs" on a few of my newer skins as opposed to round knobs. It's just a matter of changing the orientation of the <slider> tag from round to vertical or horizontal and doing the graphics correctly.

yeah, that would work, same technique used for the sliders I came up with to emulate the ones I saw on DjDads touchscreen video preview.
you could also just have the down graphic be the background image and the selected or down image be the full length of the graphic then the bar would appear to grow as the linear slider increased
just a suggestion.
