I posted this on a wrong board, so here it is again, sorry!
Is the crossfader suppossed to be dragged all the way to the side of the incoming track when mixing? Or should it be just in the middle? I never use this fader, always leave it in the middle and just mix, and why is it when I record and play it, the volume of the track (.wav) recored always reduced compared to the original one (.mp3), what should I do?
Please help, I'd really appreciate it!

Ok here goes
1. Mixing - totally upto you - the mixer is your "creative outlet" (lol) so just use it how you like. as long as you like the sound that comes out then thats all that matters - as a DJ myself i find it sounds good when fade individual eq's
2. Not really sure why this might be, but there is an option on 2.1 where it will fade the track to keep the whole mix a certain level - i think its auto-level - try mucking about with the options and experimenting...

I think you have to set your crossfader setting to full!
your sound fading curve will look like this:
______
/
so both songs will stay at maximum volume in the middle of the crossfader.
If it is set to smooth (default)
it looks like this:
____ ____
/
/
So your first song gets faded out in the middle and the second one gets faded in at the middle - both songs are at a lower volume.
