JS16 - Need I say more?
I'm DJ Maraz from Finland, btw. I have a couple mixes on my FTP, but it's address is kept in secrecy as there are ~3000 MP3 files and I don't really want everyone leeching them from my crappy ISDN. Mmkay?-)

I think the music itself really inspired me to become a DJ. To hear such great pieces of aural art created an urge within me to paint an entire picture with those pieces. Bottom line, the music is my drive.

I wasn't really inspired by any DJ really. It all happened during a company Christmas party held at a club called The Beach. The DJ started playing some floorshaking trance tunes making me and tons of other people freak out on the floor. It then hit me that someday I want to make the crowd go wild to my beats. sigh... someday

Hmmm, a lot of trancers here, not that it's a bad thing, just interesting.
Personally I was inspired by Roger Sanchez, Tom Middleton, Deep Dish's earlier work, Darren Emerson, Carl Cox, and even a little bit of Dieselboy, DJ Dara, Andrea Parker, and so on when it comes to darker electro/D'n'B, but my love is house. Be it tech, funk, disco, tribal, old-school, acid, deep, downtempo, whatever, it's house (except hard, that stuff blows ;). It's so versatile, and so expressive. I praise the DJs who can keep a set invigorating until 2 AM at less than 140 bpm, preferably towards 130, as they've given me some of the best nights of my life. So hey to all the house DJs out there, keep it real, you're all my heroes.
Sincerely,
DJ Lightweight
