Hi, so basically I am trying to use an external sound card with a Hercules dj control and Virtual DJ 8 in order to pre-listen.
I've already read the 'advice' section on the wiki, which tells you to plug the speakers into the laptop and the headphones into the sound card (I put it in 'front out' as it was the only one that seemed to work). But when I follow the instructions all I get it a horrendous static/high pitched screech from my headphones. The song seems to play at the same time, but it's quality is awful as well.
I bought the external sound card for about £8, which might explain it.
