SETUP



Step 1. Connections


Connect the SLATE4 with your computer using the provided USB cable. Connect your Headphones to the Headphones socket and your amplifier/amplified speakers to the Master Out socket at the side panel of the SLATE4 using an RCA cable.



Step 2. Drivers


Windows : Install the required Gemini ASIO drivers from http://geminisound.com/product/slate-4 (Downloads section)
Mac OSX : No drivers installation is required

Step 3. VirtualDJ


Install VirtualDJ 8 from http://www.virtualdj.com/download/index.html (in case you have not done already)

Start VirtualDJ and login with your Account credentials. A Pro Infinity, Pro Subscription or Plus Controller License is required.

Detection Window
Click to “Use Soundcard”. VirtualDJ will automatically create the necessary audio configuration.

Adjust HEadphones's channel Output level

Set focus to Folders list. Open/close subfolders if focus is in Folders list
Cycle Sideview views

Scroll through folders or tracks

Set focus to the next Browser window (cycle)
Browser Zoom view (mini decks)

Set a temporary Cue Point. Return to Cue and Preview
Return to the beginning of the track

Play-stutter
15 SYNC
Sync BPM and phase with opposite deck
Manual Beat Tap
16 DECK SEL
Select which deck will be controlled from the the Left and Right side of the unit
17 VINYL
Set Jogwheel to Vinyl (Scratch) mode when on. Set Jogwheel to Bend (CD) mode when Off
Turn Slip mode on/off
18 JOG
Touch-sensitive jogwheel for scratching or bending (depending on Vinyl mode)
Fast Search through track (Seek)
19 PITCH
Adjust Track's tempo
20 KEYLOCK
Turn Key-Lock (Master Tempo) On/off
Select next Pitch-range %
21 FX1
Enable/Disable selected Effect on FX Slot 1
Select next available Effect for FX Slot 1
22 FX2
Enable/Disable selected Effect on FX Slot 2
Select next available Effect for FX Slot 2

Enable/Disable selected Effect on FX Slot 3
Select next available Effect for FX Slot 3
24 FX LEVEL
Adjust 1st Parameter of all 3 FX Slots
Adjust 2nd Parameter of all 3 FX Slots

Hold down and then press a Pad to select an operation mode for the Pads (Hotcues, Manual Loop, Auto-Loop, Sampler, Loop Roll, Cue-Loop, Slicer and Saved Loops)
