SETUP


Step 1. Connections


Connect the SC-2000 with your computer using the provided USB cable.

Step 2. Drivers


No drivers is required to be installed. The SC-2000 is a USB class compliant device and your Operating System will install the necessary drivers.

Make sure you have updated the firmware of the unit to the latest available version from https://www.denondj.com/downloads#legacy

Step 3. VirtualDJ


Install VirtualDJ from http://www.virtualdj.com/download/index.html (in case you have not done already)

Start VirtualDJ and login with your Account credentials. A Pro Infinity or a Pro Subscription License is required.

Detection Window
A detection window will appear when the unit is first connected with VirtualDJ, verifying proper connection

Click to OK


The unit is now ready to operate with VirtualDJ.


Audio Setup
The Denon SC-2000 does't offer a built-in Audio Interface (sound card). By default VirtualDJ will route Master Output through the built-in sound card of your computer.

Press this button down to access secondary actions as described in the SHIFT ACTION column
D DECK CHG
Select a deck for the unit to control
When a single unit is used, the unit can be assigned to Left or Right Deck
When 2 units are available and a 4 Decks skin is used, the Left unit will toggle control for Left Decks (Deck 1 and 3) and the Right unit will toggle control for the Right Decks (2 and 4)
1 PLAY
Play/pause deck
2 CUE
When track is paused, sets a temporary Cue point and previews track while pressed if the Cue is set.
When track is playing, it will return and stop at the Cue point.
3 SEEK <<
Moves the track backwards in time by 4 beats while button is pressed
Sets Jogwheel to Vinyl/Scratch mode
4 SEEK >>
Moves the track forward in time by 4 beats while button is pressed
Sets Jogwheel to Bend/CD mode
5 JOG
Touch-sensitive platter (jogwheel) to scratch or bend, depending on the Vinyl mode.

When in Scratch/Vinyl mode, use the top of the platter to scratch and the outer ring to bend
When in Loop In Adjust mode, use the jogwheel to fine adjust the Loop In (Start) point of a manual loop.
When in Loop Out Adjust mode, use the jogwheel to fine adjust the Loop Out (End) point of a manual loop.
When in Loop Move Adjust mode, use the jogwheel to fine move the Loop through track's time
Fast search (seek) through track's time
6 PITCH
Adjust the Tempo (BPM) of the track
7 PITCH BEND
Temporary slow-down/speed-up Track's tempo. When button is released, the track will resume to the tempo designated by the PITCH fader
8 KEYLOCK
Enable/disable Key-Lock (Master Tempo). When enabled track's key will retain it's value while the tempo is changed
9 SYNC
Match track's Tempo (BPM) and Beat-grid phase with the ones from the Master Deck (the opposite deck when 2 decks are only used)
Manual set the Deck as Master Deck (all other Decks will sync to the Master Deck)
10 HOTCUES 1-4
In Hotcue mode : Assign a Hotcue 1 to 4 or jump to that Hotcue (if assigned)
In Sampler mode : Triggers a Sample 1 to 4 from the selected Sampler Bank
In Hotcue mode : Deletes the assigned Hotcue 1 to 4
In Sampler mode : Stops the Sampler 1 to 4 from the selected Sampler Bank
11 SEL
Toggles between Hotcue and Sampler mode for the HOTCUE buttons
When the Hotcue mode is selected (default selection), the LEDs of the Hotcue buttons will illuminate amber and will be illuminated green when the Sampler mode is sleected
12 LOOPIN
Sets a Loop In (Start) point for a manual loop.
Sets jogwheel to Loop In Adjust mode (Led will blink)
13 LOOPOUT
Sets a Loop Out (End) point for a manual loop. Exits the loop when loop is enabled
Sets jogwheel to Loop Out Adjust mode (Led will blink)
14 LOOP -
Halves the size of the loop
When loop is enabled, moves the loop backwards in beats equal to the size of the loop
15 AUTO LOOP
Enables/disables an Auto-loop of the selected size in beats
Sets the jogwheel to Loop Move Adjust mode (led will blink)
16 LOOP +
Doubles the size of the loop
When loop is enabled, moves the loop forward in beats equal to the size of the loop
17 FILTER
Applies a Low/High-Pass Filter to deck
Push to activate/de-activate the Filter
Move track's Key one semitone up/down
Push to set track's key to its original value (reset)
18 BROWSER
Toggles between normal Browser view and Browser Zoom mode (with large Browser and mini decks)
Shows/hides the Sideview split panel of the Browser
19 PREVIOUS
Sets focus to the previous Browser window
Selects the previous available view for the Sideview
20 TRACK SELECT
Scroll though files

Push to load the selected track from the Browser to the deck.
When in Folders list, push to select the next folder (sub-folder) when folder has no tracks or set focus to the Songs list when folder has tracks
Scrolls through folders.

When in Folder list, push to expand/collapse sub-folders. Set focus to the Folders list if not.
21 NEXT
Sets focus to the next Browser window
Selects the next available view for the Sideview
22 DUPLICATE
Clones the track of this deck to the opposite deck
23 FX 1/2
FX1 : Triggers the Flanger Effect
FX2 : Triggers the Beat Grid Effect
FX1 : Triggers the BrakeStart Effect
FX2 : Triggers the Backspin Effect
24 FX UNIT
Toggles between the Single and Multi FX modes
25 FX DRY/WET
In Single FX mode : Selects the next/previous Effect
Push to activate/de-activate the selected Effect

In Multi FX mode : no function
In Single FX mode push to dock/un-dock the FX GUI of the selected effect in Browser

In Multi FX mode : no function
26 FX PARAM1
In Single FX mode : Adjust the 1st arameter of the selected Effect
Push to activate/de-activate the Effect button 1 of the selected Effect

In Multi FX mode : Adjust the 1st Parameter of the selected Effect of FX Slot 1
Push to activate/de-activate the selected Effect of FX Slot 1
In Single FX mode : Adjust the 4th Parameter of the selected Effect

In Multi FX mode : Select the Effect for the FX slot 1
