SETUP


Step 1. Connections


Connect the MC-2000 to a USB port of your computer using the provided USB cable. Connect a pair of amplified speakers to the Master Output at the rear panel of the unit and your Headphones at the front socket.

Step 2. Drivers


Windows : Download and install the Denon ASIO drivers from https://www.denondj.com/downloads#legacy
Mac OSX : No drivers is required to be installed for Mac OSX computers.

Step 3. VirtualDJ


Install VirtualDJ 8 from http://www.virtualdj.com/download/index.html (in case you have not done already)

Start VirtualDJ and login with your Account credentials. A Pro Infinity, Pro Subscription or Plus MC-2000 Controller License is required.

Detection Window
A detection window will appear when the unit is first connected with VirtualDJ, verifying proper connection

Click on the Use Soundcard button in order VirtualDJ to apply the pre-defined audio configuration using the built-in sound-card of the unit. Speakers need to be connected to the rear panel of the unit in this case.

Click to OK



The unit is now ready to operate with VirtualDJ.




AUDIO SETUP


The unit has a pre-defined Audio setup and a special button in the AUDIO tab of Config to provide that.

SHIFT (SECONDARY) ACTION

S SHIFT
Press this button down to access secondary actions as described in the SHIFT ACTION column
1 SYNC
Match deck's tempo (BPM) and Beat-grid phase with the ones from the opposite deck (or the Master Deck is more than 4 decks are used)
Lock tempo and phase of the deck with the opposite deck even when scratching or changing tempo
2 CUE
When track is paused, sets a temporary Cue point and previews track while pressed if the Cue is set. Jump and stop to the Cue point when track is playing
3 PLAY
Play/pause deck
4 PITCH BEND
Temporary slow-down/speed-up deck's tempo. Tempo will resume to the value designated by the Pitch fader when the buttons are released.
Search through track's time by 4 beats backwards/forward while buttons are pressed.
5 VINYL
Set Jogwheel to Scratch (Vinyl) mode when enabled or to Bend (CD) mode when disabled
6 JOG
Touch-sensitive platter (jogwheel) for scratching or bending depending on the Vinyl mode

In Loop In Adjust mode, use the Jogwheel to fine adjust the Loop In (Start) point of a manual loop
In Loop Out Adjust mode, use the Jogwheel to fine adjust the Loop Out (End) point of a manual loop
In Loop Move Adjust mode, use the Jogwheel to the triggered loop through track's time
7 PITCH
Adjust the tempo (BPM) of the track
8 KEYLOCK
Enable/disable Key-lock (Master Tempo) to allow tempo changes without affecting the key of the track
Select the next available % range for the Pitch fader
9 CUE/SAMPLE MODE
Toggles between the Hotcue and the Sampler mode for the HOTCUE/SAMPLE buttons
LED next to button will be on when the Sampler mode is selected
10 HOTCUE/SAMPLE 1-4
In Hotcue mode : Assign a Hotcue 1 to 4 r jump to that Hotcue point if assigned
In Sampler mode : Trigger a Sample 1 to 4 from the selected Sampler Bank
In Hotcue mode : Delete the Hotcues 1 to 4
In Sampler mode : Stop the Sample 1 to 4 of the selected Sampler Bank
11 LOOP IN
Sets a Loop In (Start) point for a manual loop
Sets the Jogwheel to Loop In Adjust mode (Led will blink)
12 LOOP OUT
Sets a Loop Out (End) point for a manual loop
Sets the jogwheel to Loop Out Adjust mode (Led will blink)
13 LOOP -
Halves the size of the loop
Moves the loop backwards in beats equal to the size of the triggered loop
14 AUTLOOP
Enables an Auto-loop of the selected size in beats
Sets the jogwheel to Loop Move Adjust mode (Led will blink)
15 LOOP +
Doubles the size of the loop
Moves the loop forward in beats equal to the size of the triggered loop
16 FX1 BUT
Triggers the selected Effect
Docks/un-docks the FX GUI of the selected Effect in Browser
17 FX2 BUT
Enables/disables the 1st Effect Button of the selected Effect (if available)
18 FX3 BUT
Enables/disables the 2nd Effect Button of the selected Effect (if available)
19 FX1
Selects an Effect from the Effects list
20 FX2
Adjust the 1st Parameter of the selected Effect
Adjust the 3rd Parameter of the selected Effect (if available)
21 FX3
Adjust the 2nd Parameter of the selected Effect
Adjust the 4th Parameter of the selected Effect (if available)
22 BEATS
Selects and loads a Sampler Bank

Push to select the next Sampler Trigger mode (On/Off, Hold, Stutter and Unmute)
Adjust the Master Volume of the Sampler Output
23 CROSSFADER
Blends audio signal from Left and Right decks
24 VOLUME
Adjust the Volume of the Left/Right deck
25 CUE/PFL
Send Left/Right (or both) Decks to the Headphones channel for pre-listening
26 EQ LOW
Adjust the Low (Bass) Equalizer Band of the Left/right deck
27 EQ MID
Adjust the Middle Equalizer Band of the Left/right deck
28 EQ HI
Adjust the High (Treble) Equalizer Band of the Left/right deck
29 GAIN
Adjust the Adjust the pre-fader Output level of the Left/right deck
30 LOAD
Loads the selected track from the Browser to the Left/Right deck.
Hold for more than 1 second to unload the Left/Right deck
Ads selected track from the Songs list to the Automix List of the Sideview
31 TRACK
Scrolls through tracks
Push to toggle between the Normal Browser view and the Browser Zoom view (with large Browser and mini decks)
Scrolls though the Folders list
If focus is on the Folders list, push to expand/collapse sub-folders or set focus to the Folders list if not focused already
32 BACK
Sets focus to the previous Browser Window
Open/close the Sideview panel of the Browser
33 FWD
Sets focus to the next Browser Window
Selects the next view for the Sideview
34 BROWSE 1
Triggers the selected Video Transition and opens the VIDEO center Mixer Panel
Selects the next available Video Transition
35 BROWSE 2
Triggers the selected Video Effect on Master and opens the VIDEO center Mixer Panel
Selects the next available Video Effect
36 MONITOR CUE/MASTER
Blends audio signal from Master Output and Decks in the Headphones Channel
When in minimum (left) position, Decks that have the CUE/PFL enabled will routed to the Headphones Channel
When in maximum (right) position, the audio signal from the Master Output will be routed to the Headphones channel
In all other mid-positions the audio signal of the above will be blend in Headphones
37 PHONES VOL
Adjusts the Volume Level of the Headphones Channel (connection at the front panel)
38 MASTER LEVEL
Adjusts the Volume Level of the Master Output Channel (connection at the rear panel)

DESCRIPTION

39 USB
Connect this port with a USB port of your computer using the provided cable
40 MASTER OUT
Connect your amplified speakers using proper RCA cables. The Level of this output is controlled from the top panel of the unit
41 MONITOR LEVEL
Adjust the Volume of the AUX audio signal sent to the Headphones Channel
42 AUX IN LEVEL
Adjust the Level of the Auxiliary Input
43 AUX IN
Connect an auxiliary media source such as CD Player, MP3 player etc to this socket, using proper RCA cables. The audio signal of this Input is directly routed to the Master Output Channel (not offered in the USB Audio Interface so cannot be included in the Audio Setup nor can be recorded)
44 MIC LEVEL
Adjust the Output Level of the Microphone Input
45 MIC INPUT
Connect a Microphone using a 1/4" cable/adapter. The audio signal of this Input is directly routed to the Master Output (not offered in the USB Audio Interface so cannot be included in the Audio Setup nor can be recorded)
46 HEADPHONES SOCKET
Connect your Headphones using a 1/4" cable/adapter. The Output Level of this Output is controlled from the top panel of the unit
